Tool List:

10mm Closed End Wrench
12mm Socket and ratchet
5mm Allen socket
Long Reach Extension
U-Joint (Recommended)
Torque Wrench

Skill Level: Intermediate

We recommend that only gear heads with a little experience attempt this install. If you’ve done simple car maintenance operations like oil changes, air filter changes, and accessory belt changes, you can probably handle this. If you have no experience working on cars, we recommend finding a more experienced friend or shop to help you with this install.

Typical Install Time: 30min

(assumes experience with similar tasks, plan for a longer install time if you do not have experience performing installations like this)

Package Contents

Please inspect all of the parts that came with your kit before attempting installation. Your kit should include all of the components shown below:

1x Acuity Accelerator Relocation Bracket
3x M8 Flathead Socket Screws
3x Purple Counter-sunk Washers

What to expect after installation:

After installation, you should find it notably easier to position your right foot such that you are able to simultaneously control both the brake and accelerator pedals. This will allow you to use a heel-toe technique executing turns that require braking (on race tracks only, of course). Depending on the position you have chosen, the alignment of the brake and accelerator position will vary. We strongly suggest trying all 3 positions over time to determine which suits you best. Heel-toe technique is a very personal thing, so different people will prefer different positions.

Position A: moves the pedal closest to the driver.

Position B: is slightly further from the driver than Position A and slightly closer to the brake pedal, laterally.

Positon C: is furthest from the driver (still considerably closer than the stock location) and also moves the accelerator pedal closer to the brake pedal, laterally.

STEP 1 – Disconnect Negative Battery Terminal

Later in this guide, it will be necessary to disconnect an electrical connector under your vehicle’s dashboard. Accordingly, it is best practice to disconnect the battery. Pop the hood and locate your battery. When facing the engine bay from the front of the car, the battery will be to your right, as shown in Figure 1a. The terminal with the red plastic cover is the positive terminal and terminal clamp. The Negative terminal is located immediately behind the positive terminal, as circled in Figure 1b. Using a 10mm closed-end wrench (open ended wrenches should be avoided as they can damage the terminal), loosen the terminal clamp as shown in Figure 1c. Finally, take the negative battery and set it off to the side, as shown in Figure 2d. This helps to ensure the negative cable does not make electrical contact with the positive battery terminal while you are performing your installation.

Reinstallation Tip: When you go to put this back, just snug the terminal clamp up using the 10mm closed end wrench. Snug it up enough so that you can’t twist or remove the terminal clamp with moderate force. Don’t overtighten this nut as it can damage the terminal clamp.

STEP 2-Remove Accelerator Pedal

First you will need to disconnect the pedal’s electrical connector. To do this, depress the clip on the left side of the connector circled in Figure 2a and remove by pulling straight up. Next, using your 12mm socket, long reach extension, and ratchet, remove the 3 nuts circled in Figure 2b. Once the pedal is removed it should appear as the picture in Figure 2d.

STEP 3-Install Acuity Accelerator Relocation Bracket

With your accelerator pedal removed, you can now install the relocation bracket. First slide the bracket onto the OEM mounting studs for the accelerator pedal as shown in Figure 3a. Next, thread on the OEM 12mmnuts by hand (figure 3b). Lastly, torque the nuts to 10 ft-lbs (U-joint is helpful here, but not required). Once the bracket is installed it should appear as the image in Figure 3c.

STEP 4-Re-install Accelerator Pedal

First, select your desired pedal position (A, B, C) from the labeled tapped holes on the relocation bracket. If you are unsure on which location best suits your driving style, see the next page in this guide to help you decide. Next, line the pedal mounting holes with the desired relocation bracket tapped holes. Slide the (3) purple counter-sunk onto the (3) M8 flat head screws and thread them into the relocation bracket (Figure 4a). Lastly, using your 5mm allen socket (U-joint is helpful here as well, although not required), torque each M8 flat head screw to 10 ft-lbs (Figure 4b).

Once the accelerator pedal is mounted in your desired position, follow steps 2 and 3 in reverse to complete the installation and enjoy!
